This weekend I
will be surrounding myself with family and friends and celebrating (hopefully in
style) for a dual-purpose: My birthday and my leaving for My Awfully Big
Adventure.
Now, when it comes to throwing parties for myself, I’m all about the music and the good time and less about the decorations but I do appreciate that the way a party looks means a lot too, especially if the party is to celebrate a particular event or occasion (I’m all over glitter-covered skulls and spiders at Halloween!). And if I were throwing a party for somebody else, I think that putting that extra effort into the decorations and accessories is just an extra way to show how much you care for that person. I particularly like balloons at a party; they’re fun, easy to find and can make a big impact with minimal effort. So, with this thought in mind, I thought I’d share some ideas for some simple yet effective party decorations for any parties you may be hosting this weekend.

confess, I will be too busy decorating myself
