An Observation

Americans are real friendly.
Fact.

Sure, some people might say that my positive experiences are due in no small part to my very English accent (on old home-videos I sound like a BBC radio newsreader circa 1940). And other (very kind) people say it’s because I’m pretty. Don’t get me wrong, that’s not something I’d say myself. On a good day, I’d say I’ve got a Girl-Next-Door vague kind of prettiness going on. And I’ve been told I have ‘a great smile’ and ‘nice eyebrows’ (a compliment I’ve been paid by Americans in Austin and New Orleans in the space of a week) but I could do with losing a couple of pounds (alright, fine, a couple of stone would be more accurate) and my nose is definitely slightly on the large side. Basically, I’m no oil painting that calls for any special attention.
And so the fact remains.
Americans are just real friendly.
Period.
