Tuesday is Bonfire Night and I
can’t help thinking that it might be nice to embrace some British traditions
for a change at this time of year and perhaps to tone down the rather
over-commercialised (and perhaps more typically American) tradition of Trick or
Treating at Halloween. How much nicer for everyone to come together, as a
community, to enjoy fireworks and a warming bonfire instead of children
demanding sweets from strangers?!
So, with that thought in mind,
here are some suggestions of things you can make and do this weekend to
celebrate this (historical) British tradition.
